Snowshoe Repairs
We are excited to announce that Mountain Soles is now offering factory authorized repairs on Tubbs and Atlas brand snowshoes for the Western United States. We use the same parts and equipment to repair your snowshoes that Tubbs and Atlas use to build their snowshoes, and to perform their in-house repairs. We have been trained by their staff to ensure repairs are done to their standards.
Sending us your Snowshoes: Please take a close look at your snowshoes, and if possible, use masking tape to mark the locations on your snowshoes which need to be repaired. Then, fill out our Snowshoe Mail Order Form and include it with your shipment. Please send us both of your snowshoes, even if only one of them seems damaged.
Once we have received your snowshoes we will assess them and follow the directions you have given us on your Snowshoe Mail Order Form. Once the repairs are completed we will charge your credit card for the repairs, plus return shipping and send them back to you.
Pricing: To be determined. Once we have pricing all worked out we will post it here in the next few weeks. Until then we suggest that you choose the option on the Mail Order Form that authorizes us to proceed with repairs up to $XX.XX. Fill in the maximum dollar amount you feel comfortable with.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy just the parts and do the repairs myself: No. We do not sell individual parts for do-it-yourself repairs. Most of the rivets require specific equipment to install, which we have at our shop.
How long will it take: Please look at the turn-around time listed in side bar on the upper left of our web site, or call and ask us, or hear it on our answering machine. We try to keep this up to date. We don’t do “rush” jobs.
What about Return Shipping: We will charge you for return shipping, rounded up to the nearest half or full dollar amount that is costs us to purchase. We are currently using USPS Priority Mail for return shipping, which usually takes 2-3 business days.
What can be repaired:
- Missing deck rivets-as long as the decking is not torn and the holes are not enlarged.
- Buckles (all newer buckles in stock, older models will have color substitution if original not in stock) – All years.
- Heel straps- All years.
- Binding attachment rivets- All years.
- Heel traction- Tubbs- all models & Atlas from 2006 to current year.
- Bindings & Crampons-
Atlas: We can replace bindings & crampons on models from 2006 to current year.
Tubbs: All models with 4 rivets or bolts holding the binding and crampon in place are replaceable.
We only replace bindings in pairs (not individually) so that your bindings will match in appearance and function, and because we do not have inventory of styles from previous seasons. Replacement bindings will likely be a different color, and/or style than your existing pair. We will do our best to make your new bindings as similar to your old pair. Please send both your snowshoes to avoid delays and extra shipping costs.
What cannot be repaired:
- Decking-of any kind/any year; we do not stock replacement decking.
- Older style bindings for Atlas (older than 2006); obsolete and unavailable.
- Broken/worn through frames -any model/year.
- Pop rivets that have made the attachment hole too large (normal wear and tear issue).
- Webbing (toe straps).
Do you think your snowshoes are covered by a warranty?
If you think you have a legitimate Warranty claim, please do not contact Mountain Soles. Instead, you should contact your local Atlas or Tubbs dealer, or contact Atlas or Tubbs directly to see if your problem is covered under warranty.
